Joaquin Pedrero

Originally from Mexico City, Joaquin Pedrero brings a reverence for tradition, a keen eye for detail and an appreciation for beauty to his photography.

Although he originally studied medicine, his life and career aspirations changed with the click of a camera he purchased as a gift for his mother, while on holiday in California. He switched his focus, and began an apprenticeship period, working with commercial photographers in Mexico City and New York City, and went on to establish a successful photographic studio in Mexico and the US, primarily creating images for advertising agencies. Along the way, he developed his unique, hand-built fine art compositions which have been widely exhibited and critically acclaimed.

For the past 20 years, he has managed Fotografica Studios, based in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and works internationally.

Ana Pedrero

Ana is an accomplished photographer in her own right, specializing in portrait and special event photography.

In addition, she is knowledgeable and adept in graphic and digital arts, and image manipulation, working in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat and Quark Xpress.

Prior to her partnership in Fotographica Studios, with Joaquin, she studied photographic arts and worked as a successful freelance photographer in Mexico City and New York City, specializing in advertising and annual reports. With strong organizational and management skills, she is also responsible for the production of special event photography, utilizing state of the art technology for printing on site during professional conferences, gala nights, awards shows, religious events, school portraiture and shopping centre promotions.
